All eyes shall be on Edgars Football Club (EFC) on Sunday 22nd October 2017 when they play the first match in the Prestigious Kampala Regional League against City lads FC. The match shall start at 2:00 pm at Muteesa 2 Stadium Wankulukuku.

EFC last season were the Rubaga DFA champions after emerging top of the group and got promoted to the Kampala Regional league after defeating Victory FC 6:0 in a highly competitive play-off match.

The 23-man squad is now in camp under training session of CAF B qualified Head coach Arthur Kyesimira. Coach Arthur says; “We are never challengers but we set the challenge and winning the trophy last season set a pace for the club.”

The team is expected to be led by captain Kasozi Juma who has just returned from trials in South Africa together with striker Mbaziira paul. Kasozi says he feels blessed to be part of EFC in a high level league playing alongside other courageous and talented teammates. “with God it’s our belief that we shall go to the next level.” Team captain concludes.

The 23 man squad includes; Masembe Siraje, Ssali Emmanuel, Mugagga Kyagaba Fred, Onzima Peter, Nkwasibwe Ibrahim Alaba, Kabandize Hamood, Bazibu Simon, Ngalo Fredrick, Benda Byron, Kasozi Fred, Ogen Joeram, Kajuba Jesse, Kibaale Kenneth Elvis, Bwiiso Travor Jonathan, Mayanja Saidi, Tibiita Laban, Kimera Jamal, Nyanzi Adrian, Muganda Emmanuel, Kasozi Juma, Mbaziira Paul, Kibalatsi  Bahati Ronald and Mugulusi Ibrahim. These players are mostly recruited from the underage teams of Edgars Youth Programme.

Kampala Regional league is 3rd Division league where the champion will be promoted in the FUFA Big League next season if it wins the champion of Buganda Regional League in a final play-off match.
