The seminar was led by FIFA instructors Emy Caseletti (Marketing), Jacqui Shipanga (the head coach of Namibia's women's teams) and organized by Florie Ramogodi a FIFA development officer from Botswana.

Potential sponsors from corporate companies and institutions like British Council, Uganda Broadcasting Corporation, Uganda Sports Press Association, Airtel, Post Bank and Moringa Ogilvy too were part of this seminar.

In a nut shell the seminar was driving towards creating more opportunities for women's football players in Uganda, developing grassroots talents and rebranding the women's national team the Crest Cranes to compete with African women football giants of Namibia, Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa.

Though EYP had girls projects earlier and already developed girls like Zainab Nabatanzi who currently plays for UCU women's football team, a coach and  Referee ,there is need to add up to the numbers of women's football role models like Magida Nantanda who is the current coach for the Uganda  women's national team the  Crested cranes.

We are looking forward to have a girls' football team which will take part in competitive tournaments in Uganda and across borders.

We too shall ensure that the girl's get the right guidance and development which will lead them to the world of professionalism thus earning a living from the game of football.

Special applause to the FIFA Instructors Emy Caseletti ,Jacqui Shipanga ,Florie Ramogodi  for their wonderful presentations not forgetting FUFA and FIFA for such  opportunity.

Edgars' Youth Programme P.7 & S.4 HOLIDAYS' PROGRAMME COMMENCES.

The Edgars youth Holiday Programme has kicked off with Primary 7 and O level leavers braking the ground. The sessions are being conducted at Old Kampala Secondary School football grounds and African Bible University grounds, Lubowa.

Initial sessions were conducted by coaches Saidi Segirinya, Samuel Kaddu, Kwesi Kutesa and Dan Mubiru, with the rest of the coaches joining in through the duration of the week. The session starts with a talk session where students review the recent events and news in the football world, followed by a discussion with the coaches on the topic of the day e.g "Sensitization on health matters." Or "Dos and Don'ts while in the Holiday Programme."

The session then proceeds on with a coaching session on the selected topic of the day that is football focused. The students are having plenty of fun and showing positive attitude during the sessions as they are taken through football skills, fitness drills, jogging and career guidance. The final stage of the session is a mini football match where the pupils get to incorporate what they just practiced in the drills to refer to game related situations.

The reason for the early kick off of this holiday programme is to cater to the early holiday makers more especially from Primary Seven and Secondary Four to keep them occupied in a way of avoiding idle minds home.

We look forward to accommodating the rest of the children once they break off for the holiday as we will be introducing a holiday league competition.
