Edgars Youth Programme Unveils New Official Kits in a Landmark Event

Edgars Youth Programme (EYP) reached another milestone on its journey of empowering young talent by unveiling its new official kits at the EYP offices in Mengo yesterday afternoon. The event, filled with excitement and pride, brought together EYP players, parents, coaches, and well-wishers to celebrate this significant achievement.

The ceremony opened with a warm welcome from Edgar Watson, the Team Leader and Founder of EYP, who reflected on the academy’s growth since its establishment in 2004. Watson took time to appreciate the unwavering support from parents and well-wishers that has fueled EYP’s progress over the years.

“We have come a long way since we started this journey,” Watson shared. “The support we’ve received from parents, players, and our community has been incredible. These new kits are not just about looking good on the pitch—they’re about embracing change and growing with the times.”

Watson highlighted how the new designs represent the evolution of the academy. “The world of sports is constantly changing, and we are proud to keep up with global trends.”

The unveiling showcased the new EYP kits, which include the iconic white kit and two alternatives—orange and green. The traditional white kit, synonymous with the academy’s identity, has been refined with modern upgrades.

The improvements include an enhanced design, better-quality materials, and a porous structure that ensures improved aeration for the players. These changes were made with the players’ performance and comfort in mind.

“The white kit has always been a symbol of who we are as a team,” Watson explained. “We’ve kept it because it represents our heritage, but we’ve also made it better, stronger, and more functional for today’s players.”

The new alternative kits bring a refreshing look to the EYP brand. Both the orange and green kits have been designed to meet the highest standards, giving players and parents options while maintaining the academy’s identity.

“We’ve listened to feedback from our community,” Watson noted. “The white kit will remain a mandatory have as it has been and it will be worn at all official events. On the other hand the alternatives will be optional; that is after acquiring the mandatory white kit, one may choose to acquire either orange or green or both alternatives”

The event was not just about the kits but also about celebrating the community that makes EYP special. Parents who attended the unveiling shared their excitement and gratitude for the new developments.

Blessed Betina, a parent who has been with EYP for over eight years, spoke highly of the initiative. “As parents, we’ve been waiting for something like this for a long time,” she said. “The new kits give us options, and it’s wonderful to see how much thought has gone into their design. EYP never fails to impress us.” Betina emphasized how the alternative kits bring convenience and variety for parents. “It’s a step forward for everyone involved—players, coaches, and even us parents. These kits represent progress,” she added.

Players, too, expressed their excitement about the new jerseys. Many described the kits as modern, comfortable, and inspiring.

The unveiling of the new kits is not a rebranding effort but a statement of intent for the academy’s deep understanding and paying close attention to the client’s needs while embracing the future by coping with the modern trends. With a renewed focus on innovation, performance, and community engagement, EYP is positioning itself for even greater success in the years to come.

The event concluded with a photo session, dummy kit signing, interviews, and a showcase of the kits on EYP players. The excitement in the air was palpable as parents and players looked forward to seeing the new jerseys in action on the pitch. The unveiling is a reflection of EYP’s commitment to excellence and innovation, staying true to its founding mission of shaping the future of young soccer players.
