Edgars Youth Programme Festive Season Break Notice
As 2024 draws to a close, Edgars Youth Programme (EYP) takes a moment to reflect on an extraordinary year. It has been a journey filled with growth, passion, and achievement, made possible by the dedication of our players, the unwavering support of our parents, and the commitment of our coaching team. With the festive season upon us, it’s the perfect time to pause, celebrate the successes of the year, and look forward to the exciting opportunities that lie ahead in 2025.
The first phase of the Holiday Soccer Training Program has been a glowing success. Across all venues, the energy on the training grounds has been electric. Players as young as 3 years showed up eager to learn, while those in their teens demonstrated maturity and growth that exceeded expectations.
With every dribble, tackle, and shot, our young athletes reflected the values that EYP stands for— Care, Love, Order, Time and Best of Ability plus exhibiting discipline, teamwork, and passion for the beautiful game. The coaches, too, brought their A-game, fostering not just skills but confidence, leadership, and a love for football.
Reflecting on the program’s success, Lwanga Ronald, Chief Operations Officer at EYP, shared his pride:

To allow our players, coaches, and families to rest and celebrate the festive season, all EYP activities will take a scheduled break. Here’s what to expect:

- Resumption Date: Monday, 6th January 2025
- Weekend Soccer Training Program
- Pause Date: Saturday, 21st December 2024
- Resumption Date: Saturday, 11th January 2025
This short break is an opportunity to reflect on achievements, enjoy quality family time, and recharge for the year ahead. But don’t pack away those boots just yet—2025 has plenty of action waiting!
As we turn the page to 2025, excitement is already building for one of EYP’s biggest events—the annual internal football tournament, ‘THE CHILDREN’S LEAGUE.’
This much-loved event brings together players from all programs—School Soccer Clubs, Weekend Programs, and the Holiday Soccer Program—for a day of fun, competition, and celebration.
- Date: Saturday, 25th January 2025
- Venue: Aga Khan Primary School
- Participation Fee: UGX 50,000 per player (covers awards, meals, and all day’s activities).
More than just a tournament, The Children’s League is a stage where players shine. It’s where hours of training culminate in joyful moments of teamwork, goals, and celebration. It’s also a day for parents, coaches, and supporters to come together, cheer from the sidelines, and witness the magic of youth football.
As one of the key highlights of our annual calendar, this tournament sets the tone for the year to come—a year that promises continued growth, excitement, and opportunity for every young player under the EYP banner.
At EYP, every year begins with a commitment to be better, to push boundaries, and to nurture not just footballers but confident, disciplined individuals. 2025 will be no different. With plans to enhance training programs, provide more competitive opportunities, and mentor our young stars, the future looks bright for our players.
