Holiday Soccer Training concluded
Edgars Youth Programme (EYP) organized a Holiday Soccer Training program for children (both boys and girls) aged 3-17 years under the theme “Ball Familiarity”. The Seven Weeks’ program started on Monday 3rd December 2018 and ended on 25th January 2019. Training sessions were conducted every Monday to Friday starting at 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Old Kampala Senior Secondary School, Kiwatule Recreation Center and African Bible University Lubowa. We had a Christmas break on 22nd December 2018 and training resumed on 2nd to 25th January 2019. A Children’s League for all registered Edgars players from the Weekend, School Soccer Clubs and Holiday soccer programs to mark the climax of the holiday Program was held on Saturday 19th January 2019 at African Bible University Lubowa for players aged 11 years and below , players aged 12-17 had their games on Saturday 26th January 2019 at Aga khan primary school .
During this period, children have learnt:
- Basics of football such as Passing, Ball Control/Receiving, dribbling and rules of the game, social messages like Personal Hygiene, Teamwork, Anti-Social Behaviors,
- We have been able to continue training promising goal keepers who were identified in the previous Holiday Program and we hope to develop their talent under the guidance of the Goal Keeping Coach.
Children have been active and responded positively in the respective training sessions. We encourage you to bring your child for the next Holiday Soccer Program which will be held in the months of April and May 2019 at Old Kampala Secondary School, Kiwatule Recreation Center and African Bible University Lubowa to foster his/her continuous improvement.
