Uganda vs Libya: AFCON 2027 Qualifier — EYP Hospitality Programme Heads to Hoima

The Uganda Cranes are heading to Hoima for a major AFCON 2027 qualifying clash against Libya and Edgars Youth Programme is taking young footballers along for an unforgettable Hospitality Programme experience!

On Tuesday, 29th September 2026, football fans will turn their attention to Hoima City Stadium as Uganda takes on Libya in the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2027 Qualifiers. The match is scheduled for 7:00 PM EAT.

For EYP, however, this is more than just a football match. It is another opportunity to take our young footballers beyond the training pitch and into the world of football experiences, hospitality, travel and adventure.

An AFCON Experience Beyond the Pitch

Through the EYP Hospitality Programme, young players aged 6–17 years will travel to Hoima from 28th to 30th September 2026, experiencing the excitement surrounding this important Uganda Cranes fixture. The programme combines the thrill of international football with quality hospitality and an opportunity for our young players to travel, interact, learn and create lasting memories together.

Watching the Cranes Up Close

For a young footballer, there is something special about watching the national team in action.

The sound of the supporters.
The Uganda Cranes colours filling the stadium.
The players walking onto the pitch.
The excitement before kick-off.
And the feeling of being part of an international football occasion.

These are experiences that can inspire young players and give them a deeper appreciation of the game they love.

The Uganda vs Libya encounter is part of Uganda’s AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign, with Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania set to jointly host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

Hospitality Is Part of the EYP Journey

At Edgars Youth Programme, we believe that developing young footballers is not only about training sessions and competitions.

Our Hospitality Programmes give children opportunities to experience football in different environments while developing important qualities such as teamwork, independence, discipline, confidence and social interaction.

Previous EYP football and adventure experiences, including activities in Hoima, have given young players opportunities to travel, bond with teammates and experience football outside their regular training environment.

The Uganda vs Libya AFCON qualifier provides another exciting chapter in that journey.

The journey will begin on Monday, 28th September, as our young footballers set off for Hoima.

For three days, they will experience the excitement of travelling together, enjoying hospitality, connecting with fellow young players and preparing for one of the biggest football moments of the trip — watching the Uganda Cranes take on Libya.

And when the final whistle goes, the memories will be much bigger than the result.

They will remember the journey.
They will remember the friendships.
They will remember Hoima.
And they will remember being there when Uganda played Libya in the AFCON 2027 qualifiers.
