EYP Players Flagged Off for Germany Training Camp
Kampala, Uganda 18 August 2026
A new chapter in the development journey of young Ugandan footballers began today as Edgars Youth Programme (EYP) officially flagged off its delegation for Germany, where the team will participate in the ProSoc Academy Annual Football Training Camp from 19th to 27th August 2026.
The delegation was flagged off this morning at African Bible University by EYP Team Leader Edgar Watson, ahead of their journey to Germany for a week-long experience centred on football development, learning, cultural exchange and international exposure.

The delegation comprises 36 young players, three team parents and one staff member, bringing together a group of young athletes ready to take their football journey beyond the borders of Uganda.
From Kampala to Germany
The Germany trip builds on the growing relationship between Edgars Youth Programme and ProSoc Academy, following ProSoc Academy’s visit to Kampala last year.
That partnership has continued to create opportunities for young players to access new football environments, learn from different approaches to the game and gain experiences that contribute to their development both on and off the pitch.
During the training camp, EYP players will participate in ProSoc Academy’s annual football programme, gaining valuable exposure to technical training, football education and interaction with other young players.
For many of the players, the trip represents more than a football camp. It is an opportunity to see what is possible when talent is matched with opportunity, discipline and exposure.
More Than Football
While football remains at the heart of the trip, the EYP delegation will also have the opportunity to experience Germany beyond the training ground.
The players will explore places of cultural and historical significance, discover aspects of Germany’s heritage and interact with a new environment and culture.
These experiences form an important part of EYP’s approach to youth development recognising that developing a young footballer is not only about improving what happens with the ball at their feet, but also about building confidence, broadening their perspective and preparing them for opportunities beyond the pitch.
A Journey of Growth
The flag-off marks another significant milestone in Edgars Youth Programme’s commitment to creating meaningful development opportunities for young footballers.
The journey to Germany reflects EYP’s belief in the power of international exposure, partnerships and experiences to inspire young people and help them realise their potential.
As the delegation begins its journey, the message from Kampala is clear: this is more than a trip to Germany it is a journey of growth, learning and possibility.
EYP extends its appreciation to ProSoc Academy for the continued partnership and invitation and looks forward to an enriching and memorable experience for the entire delegation.
For the players, the journey has now begun.
From Kampala to Germany the next chapter awaits.
