From the early morning hours, the historic stadium buzzed with energy as young players, coaches, parents, and supporters streamed in, ready for a day that would leave lasting memories. Boots laced tightly, jerseys worn with pride, and faces filled with confidence set the tone for a truly special occasion.
Opening Ceremony: Setting the Tone

The ceremony was officially opened by Edgar Watson Ssuubi, Team Leader of the Edgars Youth Programme, whose inspiring remarks highlighted the importance of grassroots football in shaping well-rounded young players both on and off the pitch. His message emphasized discipline, consistency, and opportunity values that were clearly reflected throughout the day.


The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Laryea Kingstone, Head Coach of Uganda’s Men’s Junior National Teams (U15, U17, and U20). His presence motivated both players and coaches, reinforcing the belief that strong foundations at youth level are key to national success.

A standout feature of the Children’s League 2026 was the high level of skill and tactical awareness displayed by the children, a clear testament to the dedication and commitment of their coaches.
