Edgars Storm Into Futsal Uganda Cup Quarterfinals After Spirited Comeback Win
Edgars Youth Programme delivered a statement performance to book a place in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Futsal Uganda Cup, rallying from a halftime deficit to defeat Grameen FC 5–2 in a thrilling encounter.

The opening half proved challenging for Edgars, as Grameen FC showed early composure and discipline. Junior Niwamanya struck in the 11th minute to give Grameen a 1–0 lead at the break, leaving Edgars searching for answers after a relatively quiet first period.
Whatever was said at halftime sparked a dramatic turnaround.

From that moment on, Edgars took full control of the contest. The team’s high-energy pressing unsettled Grameen, forcing errors and creating chances in quick succession. Goals continued to flow as Edgars’ attacking rhythm and collective belief overwhelmed their opponents, turning a narrow deficit into a commanding 5–2 victory by full time.
The win not only secures Edgars Youth Programme a spot in the quarterfinals but also underlines the team’s resilience, character, and growing maturity on the national futsal stage.
